Mize's Rally Past Dark's in 2013 Opener

Stuman's 4-Bagger Gets Dark's off Quickly

2012-2013 Domeball got off to a later than usual start this year, but with 7 new players it was a great start to the Winter Season. With so many new players in the game, it was appropriate that Chris Bernacke threw the Season's first pitch to Rockin. The pitching was very sharp, and then came the top of the 4th. Knuckles reached on a muff, and with one out the Mize 9 loaded the bases with a walk and a knock by Termie. Stu then launched a shot to right center that caught plenty of Wedge for a slam and a 4-1 lead. This is the second straight season that Stu's first official AB was a homer. It's a lot harder than it looks.

A couple of Mize muffs in the 5th victimized Jeff when Chap knocked in a pair with a 2-out base, hit pushing the Dark lead to 6-1. With Termie in the Dark pen, that lead looked pretty safe.

The Comeback

Down 6-1 facing Termie, the Mize's had their work cut out for them. Two out hits by Cote and Savs in the 5th plated 3 base runners in the 5th, with Luis and Jeff doing the honors for the Mize 9 in the 6th driving in one each. By the end of the 6th we had a 6-6 tie.

The Mize's plated a soft tally in the bottom of the 8th and held on for the 7-6 win, See you on Feb 4,
