Game 1
Barettas 10, Mod Squad 8
Ice, Squeaky and Chip DeForest had big nights for the Mod Squad, but the Danny Boy (4-4) led Barettas held on to beat the Mod Squad 10-8 in a nice 7 inning ball game; the longest of the season so far. The play of the night was the last play of the game, as Nails pulled in a low pop fly by Pete Anderson by the first base line fence. It was a tumblin', spinnin', rumblin', dive to save the game. The tying runs were on base.
Squeaky was on deck, he said, "Man, I own Dave Thom, I wanted to hit. Damn that Nails!"

Game 2...Barettas win again 6-4, sweep Mod Squad

TNB finally made it to the 9th inning, the outer reaches of the known TNB Universe. Nails was, once again, a central figure in this game. He managed a "hold" and a "save" in his '07 pitching debut. I can't explain the details, since the game seams like I dreamed it, as I sit here; but it did happen. The game ended with Hammer driving in Joe Holmes in the top of the 9th, making the score 6-4. Hammer was then rubbed out at 2nd on the play. Did Hammer try to stretch his hit into a double?...or did he get thrown out at 2nd after a play on Joe at Home?
