Game 2 Nor'easters vs. Leominster Red Sox The Lefty

by Buck

Howdy Mr Lefty

Game 2 is another 'must win'; since the winner of this game will for sure, be in the thick of the playoff race. We are facing a great lefty pitcher (Varsity at UConn) who knows us well. He came in relief to shut us down 2 years ago in a 15 inning loss to these same Red Sox.

A Little Small Ball

The Red Sox hurler picked up right where he left off every other time he has face us. The Lefty struck out 10 Nor'easters while surrendering 2 scratched runs on 8 hits. That's a great performance against our lineup, which, if you think about it, is very good. We are not easy to pitch to.

Ice, Papi, and Ski had 4 hits between them, and 3 of them prodeced all of the Nor'easter scoring output with single tallies in the 2nd and 5th. These were basic small-ball runs that win important games. Not doing this, loses big ballgames.

Ricky Bobby

Ricky Bobby pitched a masterpiece 4-hitter, with no real threats. All the Nor'easters took turns touching him after the game. Tomorrow, we play the Rockies, another youngish good Northeast team. We sent Pickle to the mound for this tough assignment.
